Three years ago a cataclysmic event killed nearly three thousand Americans, rendered permanently many of their family members emotionally and psychologically damaged, wounded the entire nation, and changed the American way of living forever.
Many a wound has scarred by now and many a tear has dried up, but the memory of 9/1 1 has descended into our psyche, it has entered our mythology. We look at the world differently now, we think about humankind differently now.
But humankind’s work must continue, humanity’s causes must endure. The evil has a moment of triumph but the compassion weaves the fabric of human life. Hate raids and occupies but love elevates us and changes our hearts.
